No, you don’t need to start 2018 with a juice cleanse

Fad diets, detoxes and cleanses all take centre stage at this time of year.

But if you had the sweet intention to kick the year off with a juice cleanse, we’re here to say STOP. Put that juice back on the shelf and walk away. Here’s why…

They’re straight sugar.

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again – juice is just plain ol’ sugar! That’s right, all the fibre (the good stuff!) is stripped from the fruit and veg and you just get sugar water that’s headed for your liver, FAST. Sound healthy? It’s not.

You’ll spend a lot of time on the loo.

If you had plans for some beach chilling and an adventurous getaway to kick off 2018 we hate to break it to you, but committing to a juice cleanse won’t see you moving very far from a bathroom! Think about it, if you just drink an abundance of juice for days on end, you’re bound to have loose stools, not to mention that a high concentration of fructose can induce diarrhoea. No, thanks!

They’re damn expensive.

A juice cleanse can be costly – most three day cleanses will set you back between $50–100. For liquid… Sorry, but we don’t want to spend all that money to still be hungry because we haven’t eaten real food.

Plus, the next 8-Week Program kicks off in just four days.

Your best bet for kicking off the new year on the healthy foot is to jump on our 8-Week Program which gets under way on January 4. We’ve set it up so you can have a few days to reset and get back into the swing of normal life before you jump on the sugar-free wagon and kick sugar for good! Sound like a plan?
