The best pub grub… it’s not what you think!

Move over fish and chips!

When you head to the pub this weekend, will you know what to pick off the menu to stay sugar-free?

We were surprised to find out that it isn’t your classic Caesar salad or anything with a sugar-laden dressing. We also wouldn’t reach for dishes that are battered, as they usually have a sneaky sugary secret too (yeah, that’s why those fish and chips taste so good!).

So, what should you reach for?

Roast and veg!

Your best bet is to opt for something where you can guarantee how it’s going to be cooked and served – and it’s safe to say that a roast will be ah, roasted, and the veggies will be either roasted or steamed as well. Ask for the gravy on the side, and Bob’s your Uncle. It’s the more traditional choice too!
