Sometimes, you just need a little snack. Especially as the weather cools down and the comfort foods begin to call your name.
But before you binge on bickies, try these tasty snacks.
- Miso soup: Dissolve 1 teaspoon of miso paste in hot water with a slice of ginger and some dulse flakes. There are also some good miso packets on the market – just check the ingredients for processed guff.
- Boiled eggs sliced and sprinkled with sea salt: Yum! Make a batch of these at the beginning of the week. They’re good for about five days if kept in the fridge. Like them soft boiled? 5 minutes and 40 seconds will give you yolk perfection.
- Toasted nuts and seeds: Toast 2 tablespoons of your favourite nuts and seeds in a frying pan with a little coconut oil and cinnamon.
- Hot Superfood Chocolate: Place 1 cup of coconut milk, 1 tablespoon of raw cacao powder, ½ tablespoon of rice malt syrup and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat until well combined and heated through.
- Warm herbal tea: Chai, chamomile or liquorice are all great choices.
- Scrumptious scrolls: Ditch store-bought varieties and try these 2-ingredient Pull Apart Lunchbox Scrolls.
