The one lunchtime trick the IQS team swear by

Written By Unknown on Sunday, 5 February 2017 | 16:10

How much do you spend on lunch at work each day? How much is that per week? Per year?!

Save that cash (and probably eat healthier!) by following this one simple rule we at IQS swear by…

Bring your lunch from home!

Yep. That simple. Even if your office isn’t equipped with a gourmet kitchen, there are plenty of ways to pack in a nutritious lunch for work. It’s all about planning ahead.

  • Embrace the Sunday cook-up: Spend a little time planning and preparing soups, stews and sauces before the working week starts. It’s is an easy way to cut down the amount of time you have to spend prepping later on.
  • Make the slow cooker your friend: It’s an economical and easy way to prepare, without spending hours slaving in the kitchen. Just dump in the ingredients, set the timer, and leave it to do its magic!
  • Save your scraps: Before you bin dinner leftovers, consider whether you can use them for lunch the following day. Take your cues from Sarah and get hashed lunches happening.
  • Just Eat Real Food! Simple whole food ingredients generally require little effort to transform into a quick and delicious meal. Check out these lunch ideas from the IQS team.

2. Frigalicious Frittata

$12 for poached eggs at the nearest cafe? Why would you, when you can whip up this protein-packed meal from odds and ends leftover in your fridge.

3. Green Minestrone Soup

This soup can be served hot or cold and, at under $2 a serve, is a steal! Using public transport and concerned about spilling your soup? Fill up some jars and freeze it so it doesn’t leak in your bag as you’re tote-ing on the train.
