Our latest “tuna” sushi creation is actually vegan! So, obviously by now you’ve guessed that it isn’t actually tuna but by gosh, it tastes pretty similar. This vegan sushi is filled with sunflower seeds, which act as the tuna-like ingredient. And, trust us, the taste is next level.
You might be thinking “but I can get vegan sushi from my local Japanese restaurant.” While this may be true, we’re sorry to break it to you, but that commercial sushi isn’t the healthiest option out there. Once the sushi rice is cooked, it’s often mixed with rice wine vinegar and sugar! An average sushi roll usually has around one teaspoon of the sweet stuff in it. Plus, vegan sushi options usually consist of plain veggies and are often lacking in protein. In contrast, our vegan version is high in protein and healthy fats thanks to the sunflower seeds and a ton of veg. What are you waiting for? It’s time to get rollin’!
