Ditching the sweet stuff shouldn’t turn you into the grinch…
But, if you’re feeling a tad miserable sans sugar, we’ve got you covered! With these tips, you’ll soon realise just how sweet your life can be without the sweet stuff – trust us!
1. Quit sugar with a friend.
Forming new habits is always easier with the support of loved ones, so invite a friend to quit sugar with you. This way you’ll have someone to swap stories with along the way. Plus, if you sign up for our 8-Week Program and invite a friend to join you, you’ll receive $15 and so will your friend!
2. Make simple food + drinks swaps.
You can drastically reduce your sugar intake by making simple swaps when eating and drinking. Just by switching out all low-fat products for full-fat, you’ll be consuming far less sugar – without much effort. Plus, deprivation isn’t our style. We’re all about eating whole foods that satisfy, so get savvy and make some swaps!
3. Change your perspective.
When quitting sugar it’s important to keep in mind why you are doing this. When you ditch the sweet stuff and processed foods, you’re improving your health. Every time you choose eggs and avo for brekkie over sugary cereal, you are working on your health. So, instead of dwelling on what you are “missing”, why not focus on what you’re gaining? Clearer skin, balanced moods and weight loss are just some of the positive side effects of quitting sugar.
4. Complete our 8-Week Program.
If you’re struggling to reduce your sugar intake on your own, we’re here to help! Our 8-Week Program provides you with eight weeks worth of nutritionist-developed meal plans – with the choice of omnivore or vegetarian – as well as access to community forums and tips on how to navigate life without sugar. Seriously, we’ve thought of everything.
5. Treat yourself without sugar.
When something good (or bad) happens, our instincts often cause us to treat ourselves with something sweet. You broke up with your boyfriend? Have some chocolate. You got a promotion at work? Have some cupcakes! Instead of relying on the sweet stuff, treat yourself with something different – get a massage or a facial, or take yourself to the movies. You’ll have all the fun without any of the guilt.
6. Remove temptation from your kitchen.
Simply remove all traces of sugary, processed foods from your kitchen. Having it in arm’s reach won’t make you very happy or successful when making this change. Fill your fridge and cupboards with healthy fats, protein and veggies instead to will get you through!
