Why wanting to lose weight isn’t a bad thing

Want to lose weight? That’s okay!

Sometimes admitting that you want to lose weight can be hard, but it shouldn’t be – especially if losing weight means improving your overall health! In fact, prioritising your health and working towards improving it is commendable. While we’re not a detox program, many people who have completed our 8-Week Program have lost weight as a result.

When you ditch sugar, you also give up processed foods – which are filled with empty calories and nasty additives. Instead, you begin filling your plate with stacks of veggies, protein and healthy fats. And, weight loss isn’t the only positive thing about quitting the sweet stuff. You can also look forward to clearer skin, stabilised moods and more sustained energy levels.

It’s no secret that sugar isn’t good for you, with research now proving that consuming high amounts of fructose will result in weight gain. Experts have also found a link between the excessive consumption of added sugars and increased weight gain, advising we all reduce our intake of free sugars in order to decrease our risk of obesity.

So, we asked IQS expert and holistic dietitian and nutritionist, Natalie Bourke, to explain exactly how quitting sugar can aid in weight loss…

“Quitting sugar helps to reduce inflammation in the body, and can assist in correcting dysregulated blood sugar, balancing hormones and supporting your thyroid to function optimally. All of these changes help assist your body in establishing a healthy body weight for life.

So, if you want to ditch the sweet stuff and work towards your health goals, why not give our 8-Week Program a go!

And, if you sign up to our 8-Week Program before December 7, you’ll receive $50 off your total shop at Nourished Life – the home of toxin-free shopping!
