We all know that feeling of getting sucked into a sale when you end up buying a whole cabbage…
…even when you know you can’t physically eat that much! That’s where we come in. Before you let that cabbage get past its best, whip up these tasty bites.
Homemade Sauerkraut.
Sauerkraut is such an easy (not to mention delicious) way to use up a heap of cabbage at once. Not only is one of our favourite fermented foods but it’s packed with probiotics to support your good gut bugs and boost your overall health. Plus, it’s hands-on so it’s perfect if you’re keen to get the kids involved in too!
The Easiest Kimchi Recipe.
While we’re on the fermented train, we can’t forget about kimchi. It’s similar to sauerkraut but loaded with other veggies too, so it’s a good one to make after your fridge clean out. Pop a little on your salads for some extra gut-lovin’ goodness.
Super Slaw.
Making slaw with your cabbage may seem a little obvious, but before you roll your eyes, this isn’t your regular slaw! Packed with six different kinds of veg, quinoa and a delicious horseradish dressing, it’s got a flavour hit made to please. This is the perfect dish for Christmas lunch – just don’t tell your crew that it was made from all your leftovers!
Cauliflower toast.
Swap out the cauliflower in our infamous cauliflower toast for a slice of your cabbage and top with eggs for a delicious and nutrient-dense brekkie.
