You bought a jar of ACV… here are 5 ways to use it up

A new recipe called for I Quit Sugar: Apple Cider Vinegar, so you grabbed a bottle from your local Woolies. And… it’s sat in your cupboard ever since!

Sound familiar?

Fear not, there are plenty of surprising things you can do with our favourite digestion-boosting, blood sugar-balancing, fat fighting tonic… Here are just a few.

1. Shot it in the morning.

A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in the morning is a great way to kick-start the day. “Personally, it gets my appetite going and my juices fired up ready for food” says Sarah.

A shot too intense for you? You can also try adding a dash to your morning smoothie.

2. Bake some muffins!

ACV adds a naturally sweet, tangy flavour to your favourite sugar-free muffin recipes and can enhance the flavour of fresh fruit (especially apples and pears).

New to sugar-free baking? Grab a packet of IQS muffin mix (available exclusively at Woolworths) and get experimenting without the fuss and fancy.

3. Pickles.

You can use your ACV in place of regular vinegar in most pickle recipes for a sweeter, tangier crunch. Case in point? These easy peasy Bread ‘n’ Butter Pickles.

4. Make a tasty salad dressing.

Bad news: your average balsamic vinegar can be almost HALF sugar.

Good news: 1 tbsp ACV, 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil and 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard with a pinch of salt and pepper tastes even better drizzled over your leafy greens!

5. Add it to broths and soups.

ACV pairs really nicely with chicken stock and adds an extra hit of nutrition to your soup or broth.

Whip up a batch of our Kung-Flu-Fighting Chicken Soup next time flu season hits… you’ll see…
