5 minutes + 2 ingredients = the easiest sugar-free ganache you’ll ever make!

Once you find the perfect ganache recipe, it becomes a staple of your cooking repertoire. From decadent icings to rich tart fillings to a simply heavenly dipping sauce, it’s one of the easiest crowd-pleasers ever.

But don’t worry, you don’t have to leave your low-sugar lifestyle behind; it’s easy to make sugar-free*, too! With just two ingredients, our resident baking aficionado Alyssa whipped up this perfect chocolate ganache in five minutes flat.

Ingredients.

  • 100g 85 per cent (or higher!) dark chocolate.
  • 270ml can of full-fat coconut cream.

Instructions (or see step-by-step photos below!).

1. Heat the coconut cream in a saucepan.

2. Roughly chop your chocolate.

3. Pour half the coconut cream back into the can (this will come in handy later if you want to adjust the richness of your ganache).

4. Add the chopped chocolate to your warm coconut milk and take the saucepan off the heat.

5. Gently stir the two together until they melt, being careful not to overwork the mixture.

6. Too rich for your liking? Add more coconut cream until it’s smooth and velvety.

7. Stir and serve however you like! We chose to pair it with fresh fruit, as it perfectly balances the richness of the chocolate.

Optional extras: Give your ganache a little something extra by infusing your coconut cream in Step 1. Throw in some whole spices (cinnamon or crushed cardamom pods work well) or add a dash of rosewater. Fancy!

* 85 per cent dark chocolate contains a small amount of sugar – less than three teaspoons per 100g. We recommend enjoying dark chocolate on special occasions and sticking to a small portion size, or choosing a brand with even less sugar if possible.
