Deconstructed beef spring roll in a bowl!

Written By Unknown on Friday 23 February 2018 | 19:04

How many times have you noshed on a deep-fried spring roll while at your local Chinese restaurant? That’s an egg roll for our friends in the States…

While spring rolls are undoubtedly tasty, they’re also covered in pastry and then deep-fried in (most-likely) vegetable oil – not ideal. Plus, the filling is usually swimming in a sugary sauce like oyster sauce – a 10ml dollop of oyster sauce contains around 2.9g of sugar – and the lengthy list of ingredients often includes a bunch of thickeners, flavour enhancers and soy. Ick!

Rest assured, however, you don’t need to ditch your fave spring roll flavours just because you’ve said farewell to the sweet stuff! Our whole food version is much easier to throw together – it only takes 15 minutes to cook, there’s no fiddly pastry and it’s packed with four different types of veggies. Plus, this one is also gluten-free, dairy-free and serves a family of four easily. What more could you want?
