Snacks to keep you satisfied (all day long!)

Written By Unknown on Friday 20 October 2017 | 11:02

When you ditch the sweet stuff, you’ll likely find that snacking will become a thing of the past.

Healthy fats and satiating proteins will do that to you. But, when a snack attack does strike, the trick is to tackle it in the right way.

If you’re following our 8-Week Program, we always suggest nutrient-dense nibbles like carrots sticks with guacamole, hummus, cream cheese or raw nuts.

But, if you’re on the hunt for something a little more creative, these tasty treats will tide you over till your next meal…

1. An AM-workout boost.

Hitting the gym before work? Instead of store-bought protein shakes and sugary bliss balls, can we suggest a square of Supercharged Peanut Butter Fudge from the I Quit Sugar: Mini-Book of Gut Lovin’ Gummies?

Full of Gut Lovin’ Gelatin (which contains 18 amino acids critical for muscle growth and healing) and protein-packed peanut butter, it’s the perfect pre or post-workout snack.

It’s also easy to whip up the night before and pack in your gym bag the next morning.

2. Mid-morning munchies.

If breakfast is a distant memory and lunchtime feels like a lifetime away, it might be tempting to head out for a sugary caffeine hit with a sweet slice of something on the side.

Don’t! Instead, save your coffee coins and whip up this Anti-Inflammatory Turmeric Tea. It’s great for digestion and pairs well with our Sugar-Free Anzac Biscuits, so you have no more excuses for raiding the office cookie jar.

3. The 3pm slump.

The call of the vending machine is strong, but you can silence it with these homemade Chocolate Nut Butter Cups. They taste better than the similar (but much more sugary) store-bought version, and the protein-rich nut butter filling should keep you full until dinner.

4. After school nibbles.

Playing chauffeur to your kids? Keep a container of our Coconut “Marshmallows” handy.

The recipe is easy to make and even easier to tote. And, it’s packed with gelatin and coconut milk – a perfect combination for fuelling ‘hangry’ kids off to after-school sports (and their frazzled driver, perhaps?).

5. Your post-dinner treat.

If your guilty pleasure is tucking into bagfuls of chips while you catch up on your favourite TV shows, swap your Burger Rings for these Barbecued Beetroot Crisps.

Made with just three ingredients (and you’ll recognise all of them!) they’re a natural, healthy way to indulge in something crunchy.
