How do you like your chook?

In our office, we often debate what our preferred cut of meat is…

Unsurprisingly, chicken is Australia’s most commonly consumed meat and so it begs the question – do you go for the breast or the thigh?

Are breasts best?

The best perk about chicken breasts is they’re a lean cut of meat and if you buy them boneless and skinless, they’re pretty much ready to cook! But, because they’re so lean they dry out quite fast – making them perfect if you’re cooking something in a sauce but if not, keep an eagle eye on them or they’ll turn out too rubbery to munch on.

Or, are you a thigh kinda guy?

While the thighs are a bit fiddly to cook with, they’re cheaper than breasts (ah, yes please) and they stay nice and juicy because of the higher fat content, which makes them great for our recipes.

So, in case you didn’t guess, we’re all about the chicken thighs – cheap, juicy and tender – what’s not to love?! Grab your thighs and tuck into this finger-licking recipe…
