Why it’s important to celebrate your birthday (cake included!)

Written By Unknown on Sunday 10 September 2017 | 23:26

IQS has just turned four, yippee! But, what’s a birthday without cake, right?!

The thought of a sugar-free cake might not sound all that appealing, but let us tell you, a cake that’s naturally sweetened can be even more mouth-watering. Just take a look at this…

I Quit SUgar - Spectacular Rosestachio Cake

On our birthday we definitely indulged in a lil’ cake…

And, we think you should too. It’s important to us to take time and celebrate those milestones – birthdays, weddings, promotions, all of it – because life is meant to be enjoyed!

Day-to-day we aim to eat as little added sugar as possible, limiting ourselves to around half a teaspoon of added sugar per serve. On special occasions however, we allow for some extra sweetness (up to two teaspoons per serve). But wherever possible, we aim to first sweeten our recipes with whole foods and naturally sweet ingredients.

Plus, once you find your food freedom, a slice of cake is no biggie!

If you’re worried that one bite of cake will throw you off the sugar-free wagon, don’t panic. After giving sugar the flick, you’ll be able to tune into your real hunger so one slice will be enough to satisfy you (you might even enjoy it more than before too).

A cake post wouldn’t be complete without some recipes now would it…
