The World Health Organization says that we should only consume just six to nine teaspoons of sugar daily for optimum health.
Or, in other words, no more than 25g of sugar for a woman and 36g of sugar for a man (4g of sugar = a teaspoon of sugar). Incidentally, that’s the amount we’ve been promoting for years on our I Quit Sugar: 8-Week Program!
Think six teaspoons of sugar sounds like a lot? You might be surprised at how much more you’re actually consuming!
We’ve pulled together a simple infographic with some common examples, to show you just how easily you can tally up six teaspoons of sugar. Is it time to you stopped putting juice and flavoured yoghurt in your trolley?
