For parents, packing your kids’ lunchbox with nutrient-dense food (that they actually want to eat) can be tough.
If you look around your local supermarket, it can be a minefield of sugary snacks and packaged treats so it’s no wonder that one of the most common questions we get asked at IQS is for fuss-free lunchbox ideas.
To help you out and ensure your little ones stay happy and healthy, here are three IQS-approved lunchbox ideas you can prepare in a flash.
IQS-friendly lunchbox #1. Dinner Leftovers:
Simply make more food for dinner and then slap the tasty leftovers in the kids’ lunchbox the following day. Super easy!
- Roast chicken drumstick.
- Sweet potato mash with peas.
- Cob of corn and steamed broccoli.
- Water.
IQS-friendly lunchbox #2. I-only-have-five-minutes-in-the-morning lunchbox:
Forgot to prepare something last night? This is the perfect lunchbox you can throw together in a frenzy in five minutes flat.
- An easy two minute Eggy Muggin.
- Carrot sticks, snowpeas and hummus.
- Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
- Water, of course!
3. Freezer stash lunchbox:
We’re fans of utilising freezer space. So whip up the following on a Sunday afternoon with the help of the kids then take it out the night before or the day of and they should defrost in time for morning tea.
- An Energy Meffin.
- A Berry Yoghurt Smoothie.
- Broccoli Mash (we have a recipe for this in the IQS Family eCookbook).
- A snack of one IQS Crunchy Nut Cacao and Chia Protein Balls.
