But what if you’re elsewhere in the world and still want to make some fructose-free treats?
We reached out to the IQS community to find out where they buy rice malt syrup (as known as brown rice syrup). Sugar quitters, bookmark this page!
UK. 
“Ocado (online Waitrose food delivery) sell it,” says myfoodchronicles_. “I can get it from Amazon, Whole Foods or Holland & Barrett,” says katielshore. And 2petit_rouge says your best bet is “good old Tesco!”.
Wherever you get it from, make sure it’s the real deal. While lmrogers0 opts for Biona Organic Rice Syrup, lucindaleachman prefers Crazy Jack Organic Brown Rice Syrup because it has “no barley or any other added stuff, really clear and sweet taste”.
Note: Avoid Clearspring Organic Rice Malt Syrup – it has barley syrup added, so it’s not fructose-free.
Rest of Europe. 
Austria: “I buy the Naturkornmühle Werz RMS, which you can get at Denns or any other health food shop,” says adiversedelight.
France: “You can buy RMS at health store Satoriz Bio,” says jb_abroad.
Germany: Like marieeats_, try Denns, Alnatura and “shops like DM, Müller and Rossmann in the health food section. My favourite brand is Werz.”
Italy: Italyquitsugar says, “I usually buy it at health food stores such as Naturasì, which I can find everywhere in Italy. Recently I’ve noticed it also in ordinary supermarkets from Probios or Nattura.”
Portugal: “I buy Geleia De Arroz from the brand Próvida Saudável at the wonderful chain of natural stores, Celeiro,” says filiparibeiroferreira.
Sweden: You can get RMS at Med24 online, says missmarzipancom. “They have it at The Good Store on Söder in Stockholm,” says jess_linn.
U.S. & Canada. 
You’re in luck! U.S. folk heshulynn and phylliswerlin say that Whole Foods stocks rice malt syrup.
If you don’t have a Whole Foods near you, try Wegmans, your local health store or online. The Lundberg Family Farms brand is the most common, say glendadventures, tashahunter and mishybecks.
Canadian health stores also stock Lundberg RMS says rachwier, while you can pick up a jar at Save on Foods and Superstore in British Columbia, says hminck.
New Zealand. 
“In New Zealand I get mine from Pak n Save or Countdown,” says emily_cairns.
Some other options include Chantal Organics, Commonsense Organics, Ceres Organics and Bin Inn (thanks anna_s_williams, soppanapuss, mysoljam and amberrosegrimmett).
South Africa. 
Health Connections Organic Rice Syrup is available in all South African health shops, says preenasun.
“You can order it from Wellness Warehouse. Quick delivery and great prices,” says urbanthriver. You can also find it at Faithful to Nature, says _.sam._j_, but don’t expect to find it in the supermarket!
Asia & the Middle East. 
It looks like rice malt syrup is only just catching on in Asia and the Middle East, but we did get a couple of bites!
Dubai: whisperingsalt says you can find it at Organic Foods and Café.
Qatar: brookester81 says you can get Biona at Megamart.
Singapore: “I’ve found it in Mustafa,” says jensoden.
While rice malt syrup is fructose-free, we still recommend using on special occasions only, and cutting down the sweeteners in your baking if you can.
