2 minutes, 2 ingredients, no more sugar cravings

When sugar cravings hit hard, the need to fill your stomach can override your desire to eat healthily.

Is it any wonder that junk food companies take full advantage of our “hunger” with snack-sized sweets, convenience stores and vending machines?

Don’t answer their sweet siren call. These easy, healthy two-ingredient snacks can be prepped in just two minutes, so you can bust those sugar cravings at the drop of a hat.

Peanut butter + egg = gluten-free cookies!

PB lovers, prepare to have your minds blown. Simply combine one cup of natural peanut butter and an egg in a bowl until combined and form into small disc shapes. Whack in oven at 180℃ (350℉ or Gas Mark 4) for 10 minutes and you’ve got a batch of cookies!

Dark chocolate + activated buckwheat = chocolate crunch bars!

Carefully melt 100g of dark chocolate (85 per cent cacao or higher) and fill a grease/nonstick mini muffin tray. Sprinkle over activated buckwheat groats and freeze for two hours to a crispy, crunchy, chocolatey snack.

Apple + haloumi = salted caramel!

Sarah’s genius recipe is perfect for when you’re after something salty sweet. Pop a sliced apple and six slices of haloumi in a hot pan, cooking until both are caramelised. The salt from the haloumi will coat the apple – yum!

Greek yoghurt + frozen berries = froyo bark!

Combine a cup of unsweetened Greek or natural yoghurt with some frozen berries of your choice. Pour the whole lot into a tray and freeze for four hours (or until you can break into shards).

Banana + oats = banana bread biscuits!

Is there anything banana can’t do? Mash two ripe bananas and fold through a cup of rolled oats. Form into disc shapes and bake at 160℃ (325℉ or Gas Mark 3) for 10 minutes or until the scent of banana bread cookies wafts through your kitchen. Note banana is a little sugary – share these around!
