A sugar-free twist on an Aussie classic: Golden Happy Times!

Written By Unknown on Tuesday 17 January 2017 | 13:45

If there’s one thing the endless spin-offs (including Blue Ribbon tubs, the Gaynetto and one unholy doughnut) prove, it’s that Australians really love a Gaytime*.

And it will be proved again today when droves of Sydneysiders make the pilgrimage to TOPSHOP TOPMAN’s pop-up store to try a range of limited bespoke Golden Gaytimes.

The classic combo of ice-cream and biscuit is being offered in new and questionable variations like Unicorn’s Breath (popping candy and musk stick) and Crumbed Choc Millionaire (chocolate crumbs and smashed potato chips).

In the meantime, we’ll be cooling down on these homemade sugar-free** popsicles from I Quit Sugar: Simplicious. Inspired by the famous treat, Sarah’s recipe features a delicious crunchy chocolate shell and creamy coconut centre. And less than a teaspoon of sweetener per pop!

Make them the night before and you’ll have yummy frozen treats to share with friends, family and lucky co-workers – because happy times are better spent together!

* If you’re not Australian, you may be very confused right now. May we direct you here.

** While we quit fructose on the I Quit Sugar: 8-Week Program, this recipe contains a small amount of rice malt syrup (a blend of glucose and maltose). We recommend enjoying on special occasions and sticking to a small portion size, or cutting down on the sweetener even further.
