10 ways to give the gift of health this Christmas

Written By Unknown on Thursday, 21 December 2017 | 14:00

It’s easy to give meaningless gifts come Christmas time…

So, why not give your loved ones the opportunity to achieve their health goals with more useful gifts. From classes to equipment, here are our suggestions for healthy gift-giving….

1. A chef’s knife.

A sharp knife is arguably the most important piece of equipment in your kitchen. Not only does it make meal prep a cinch, but it also makes the task of cooking itself more inviting when you have great equipment. Plus, sharp knives are much safer to use, as there’s less chance of slipping when cutting food. Now, we know that urban legend says that gifting people knives is bad luck – so if you’re superstitious, include a coin with the knife as it’s said to counteract the “bad luck”…

2. Kombucha.

Literally give your loved ones the gift of gut health this year with kombucha. We recommend Remedy Kombucha, so why not buy a case of booch and have it delivered straight to your door. Convenient, nutritious and delicious!

3. Cooking classes.

Cooking is the easiest way to JERF, so if you’re loved one doesn’t know their way around a kitchen, gift them a cooking class voucher! Knowing how to prepare and cook meals for yourself is so important and the easiest way to keep your health in check because you know exactly what is going into your food. Plus, it’s a lifelong skill that’s undoubtedly worth the investment!

4. Our 8-Week Program.

We all have that friend that goes a little too hard on the sweet stuff, so do them a favour and give them our 8-Week Program for Christmas. Ditching sugar and learning to cook nourishing recipes are just some of the advantages of our Program.

5. Fitness tracker.

Fitness trackers were all the rage when they burst onto the health scene a few years ago and they’ve remained extremely popular ever since. Not to mention, research has also found that the use of tracking devices and pedometers actually increases people’s motivation to exercise.

6. Cookbooks.

Get your friend out of their food rut with a brand new cookbook. Our recently released Super Smoothies Cookbook is the perfect gift for the warmer months here Down Under. But friends in the Northern Hemisphere, why not give your loved one our Slow Cooker Cookbook – perfect for winter!

7. Yoga mat.

If your friend or family member is keen to dip their toe into the world of yoga, surprise them with a yoga mat? Or, if they’re already a seasoned yogi, maybe it’s time for a new mat after one too many downward facing dogs…

8. Exercise class/app voucher.

Buying a voucher to an exercise class is a great way to give the gift of health and wellness. Or, buy your loved one a meditation app – mindfulness is priceless!

9. Blender.

Every smoothie-loving human needs a good-quality blender – who can stand lumps of kale?! We love our KitchenAid blender as it’s super versatile – you can also whip up nut butter, nut milks, ice cream and dressings in it. Then, your friends can make you Sesame + Coconut Ice Cream – it’s only fair, right?

10. Activewear voucher.

Research says that what we wear affects how we act  – we literally experience mental changes when we wear certain clothing. When applied to the world of fitness, it makes sense then if you’re wearing the right gear, you’re more likely to be in the zone.

What are you buying your loved ones this Christmas?
