Do you ever find yourself halfway through a meal thinking, “I think I’m full,” but you just CAN’T. STOP. EATING?
Well, since we talk about finding your “food freedom” a lot, we thought it was about time we explained what it actually means…
Put simply, when you quit sugar, you learn to tune into your real hunger.
We’ve talked before about how your brain has no off switch for fructose, and how eating the sweet stuff can actually make you hungrier.
But when you give sugar the flick, your foodie hormones (AKA ghrelin and leptin) begin to fire up normally, meaning you’re able to really acknowledge when you’re hungry and you’re (finally) able to stop eating when you’re full.
Once your palate recalibrates, you’ll no longer be a slave to sugar and you’ll come away from meals feeling nourished (rather than having to unbutton your jeans).
But don’t just take our word for it!
Sarah found her food freedom on the 8-Week Program and says, “I’m never hungry! I don’t feel like I am depriving myself of anything”.
Anita completed the vegetarian Program and found she could eat freely, without feeling restricted. “I’m not eating tiny portions or calorie counting and yet I am still losing weight. I am eating nutritional meals that fill me up, and I’ve lost 5kg (11lbs)!”
Natalie says that after doing the Program, she still enjoys a few treats but without bingeing or feeling guilty! “If I ever have a weekend where I’m eating more sugary foods than I normally would (I can’t always resist the gelato!) I simply go straight back to my usual eating, work past the guilt and things level back out.”
For those of you who have already found your food freedom, you might just find you need a reboot every now and then…
The 7-Day Reboot was developed to be the perfect refresher program for your taste buds! So if you’ve fallen off the sugar-free wagon, we’ll help you get back on track to find your healthiest you.
