Sign it up for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, because peanut butter is actually magic. Seriously.

This salty, creamy spread can be utterly transformed with just the addition of one other ingredient. Don’t believe us? Check out these miraculous two-ingredient peanut butter recipes.

Note: Make sure you buy 100 per cent natural peanut butter for these recipes to work.

1. Peanut butter + egg = COOKIES.

Combine an egg and a cup of peanut butter until it reaches cookie dough consistency. Form into discs and bake in the oven at 180ºC (350ºF or Gas Mark 4) for 10 minutes. (Find the full peanut butter cookie recipe here.)

2. Or… A MUG CAKE.

Stir an egg and 3 tablespoons of peanut butter in a mug, then microwave for one minute. Voila, sponge cake! You can also add a teaspoon of rice malt syrup for a sweeter flavour.

3. Peanut butter + dark chocolate = FREEZER FUDGE.

Melt 1 cup of 85 per cent dark chocolate and mix in 1 cup of peanut butter. Spread the mixture on a lined tray and freeze until firm.

4. Or… PEANUT BUTTER CUPS.

Melt 1 cup of dark chocolate and spoon a thin layer into small patty pans. Freeze for 5 minutes and add ⅓ teaspoon of peanut butter to each. Spoon the remaining chocolate on top and freeze until firm (about 30 minutes).

5. Peanut butter + coconut cream = SATAY.

This simple sauce is perfect for when your lunch/dinner just needs something. Pour a tin of coconut cream and ½ cup of peanut butter in a pot, and simmer on medium until fragrant. If you like spice, a sprinkle of cumin and cayenne won’t go astray.

6. Peanut butter + coconut oil = ICE MAGIC.

This is the most magical recipe of all! Combine 125ml of peanut butter with 40ml of coconut oil and drizzle over sugar-free ice-cream. It will crisp up just like the old childhood treat!
