While you might not think that you have a lot in common with Alec Baldwin, you actually do!

What’s the commonality? Well, Alec Baldwin (like many other celebs), has ditched the sweet stuff too! If you haven’t already kicked sugar to the curb, what are you waiting for? You probably know Kate from her roles in Almost Famous and How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days – or because she’s also Goldie Hawn’s daughter! – but did you also know that she’s a sugar-free movie star? This bubbly blonde ditched the sweet stuff a few years ago, revealing during an interview in 2015 that she realised she was addicted to sugar when she began craving it at 4pm every afternoon. “I would say cutting sugar, or at least being aware of how much you are ingesting in a day and limiting it, that was an eye-opener for me,” she said.

  • Adele.

This British songstress is well known for her songs about heartbreak, but did you know that she’s also a fan of the low-sugar life? In fact, Adele made a drastic lifestyle change in 2015 when she began exercising regularly, stopped smoking and cut sugar out of her diet – she was previously having up to 20 teaspoons of sugar a day in her tea! “I used to drink ten cups [of tea] a day with two sugars in each so I was on 20 sugars a day. Now I don’t drink it and I have more energy than ever.”

  • Kourtney Kardashian.

The eldest Kardashian sibling is famous for her strict gluten-free diet, but she also chooses to shy away from sugar as well. “I always try to avoid sugar – especially refined sugar – for so many reasons,” Kourtney revealed on her website. “First, sugar is addictive and I notice that after I eat it, I need it. Sugar doesn’t sustain you when you actually need energy, like for a workout.”

  • Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley ditched sugar from her diet on the advice of a naturopath and skin-care expert. Rosie also cut out gluten, dairy and alcohol out at the same time, which is no mean feat. “I’m not gonna lite, it’s been brutal,” Rosie said. But, when your skin is literally a part of your job – #model – ditching sugar is a surefire way to help combat the signs of early ageing.

Thanks to the help of his health-conscious wife, Hilaria, actor Alec Baldwin managed to cut all sugar and refined carbohydrates from his diet – which successfully reversed his pre-diabetic diagnosis. And, he also lost around 13kg in the process! Way to go, Alec!

  • Kate Bosworth.

For American actress Kate Bosworth, sugar was the cause of adult acne so it had to go! “For me, it’s really refined sugar and booze. There’s a doctor I work with in London who’s a gastro-entomologist who’s combined the beauty with actual knowledge of the gut. And sugar corresponds to certain glands in your face.”
