A new round of the I Quit Sugar: 8-Week Program has just kicked off, and brought with it all sorts of questions about quitting sugar. Most commonly, “How do I deal with sugar cravings.”
If a spoonful of coconut oil just isn’t helping the cravings go down, we suggest trying this easy technique by Program expert and qualified kinesiologist Kate Pamphilon instead..
“Acupressure is an ancient technique of traditional Chinese medicine and the best thing about it is you can do it at work, at home or in a cafĂ©!
This one move is especially good for easing cravings and also feels really good:
Just start by applying gentle pressure to your temporomandibular joint (the area in front of the lower part of your ear which moves as you open and close your mouth) then massaging down to, in front of and under your ear for a couple of minutes on both sides.”
We originally published this article in May 2015. We updated it in June 2016.
